Education

Prerequisite for the implementation of alternative methods is having the information about them. This should be done early on. The knowledge might even be crucial for the choice of the future field of research activity. Therefore, our foundation aims to become increasingly involved in this aspect in the future.

One of the objectives of the Animalfree Research foundation is to distribute the knowledge about alternative methods as early as possible.
One of the objectives of the Animalfree Research foundation is to distribute the knowledge about alternative methods as early as possible.

One of the tasks of the next years will be to spread the information about the 3R-Concept. The results of our surveys are astounding: a high percentage of participants in compulsory education for persons who will carry out animal experiments had not yet heard of the 3Rs principle. This is despite finished studies and various internships. In fact, even in biology, and also in veterinary studies, it is not being (sufficiently) mentioned that alternative methods to animal experiments exist.

If this is the case even for the prospective specialists, one should not be surprised by the current lack of knowledge about alternative methods among the general public. For this reason, we organize numerous events and lectures several times a year, which also appeal to a broader target audience. In this section you will find information also on whether the event is public and whether it is aimed exclusively at specialists.

There is great hope for the 3Rs principle in the next generation of researchers. It is up to this generation to critically question the animal experiments, and to regard animal-free methods as the obvious choice. But they have to receive the relevant information early on. Ensuring this will be one of our priorities over the next few years.
